Originally from Ottawa, Canada, Mark R. Ducharme is a professional photographer residing in Berlin, New Hampshire with his wife and family. Mark relocated to New Hampshire in 2004 and holds an Architectural Technician Degree along with a Computer Software Developer Degree.
Mark’s interest in photography began in 2000 when he purchased his first digital camera. The ease of use and the instant gratification of viewing his photos sparked his interest and he hasn’t looked back. Since that time he has improved his skill and mastered his craft. He possesses a distinctive style, intense creativity and a unique perspective of visualizing objects, people, and landscapes.
Mark has contributed to numerous community based activities. Examples include: Northern Forest Heritage Park events, Berlin Cancer Relay for Life, and photographing such crucial town moments as the demolition of the Pulp Mill. Mark has also volunteered his time and photos for various Androscoggin Valley Chamber and Main Street Program events. Mark has donated his scenic photos for the 2007 and 2008 Androscoggin Valley Chamber Magazine, which each year is printed in about 25,000 copies and distributed throughout New Hampshire at various travel and tourist stops. Mark photos have been donated to community based auctions as well as showings at the Now/Then/When event as well as at art shows at St Kieran’s Center for the Arts.
Mark’s beautiful scenic photos are currently featured on the www.berlinnh.gov website to allow people from all over the world to view the beauty and scenery in what is the “north country”. Mark’s scenic photos of Berlin have been discovered and published in the German magazine, “ Aktuell “. Mark’s photos are also displayed on various travel & business websites such as State Representative Paul Hodes (www.hodes.house.gov) website as well as newhampshire.com for the town of Berlin. Mark’s photos have been featured on the main page for www.ottawastart.com as well.
